Today in the Tel Rumeida neighborhood of Palestine, a Palestinian activist from a local organization got arrested for filming settlers attacking a newly built fence owned by a Palestinian man. Settlers from the illegal Tel Rumeida settlement have been destroying the fence since October. Today at approximately 10:30 in the morning the head of the settlement’s security arrived with a tractor to break down the fence. He was then stopped by the police and army and taken away. At around 14:00, five settlers and a few children arrived to continue demolishing the fence. Medhat Amro, a 29-year-old Palestinian activist arrived with a camera to film the settlers destroying the fence but he was arrested by the Israeli Police straight away and accused of attacking the settler kids. He was taken to the police station in the illegal Kyriat Arba settlement but was released later in the evening. The organization, Youth Against Settlements, paid a fine of 1000 NIS in order to secure his release. via Youth Against Settlements
